How BJJ Teaches Kids Discipline

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a complicated sport, which forces kids to pay attention to every little detail when learning new techniques.  Discipline and focus are like muscles that need to be strengthened and BJJ is the perfect way to work out those muscles.  The sport keeps kids active and having fun while still being challenging and interesting, so they don’t loose focus.  This ability to focus and be disciplined will directly translate into their daily lives with things such as school work, relationships, and overall quality of life.  Many times kids are sent to BJJ class in order to learn discipline, respect, and how to abide by the rules because they are trouble makers at home.  While BJJ isn’t merely focusing on improving these things it’s often a result, especially when the kids have a good instructor who is able to make class exciting, fun, and interesting.  When children see the benefits of paying attention and they begin to improve their skills they will feel a sense of accomplishment, and it will enforce this positive behavior.
