Brazilian Jiu Jitsu: A Fun Way to Get FIT

Most of the time when we hear about Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or any other form of martial art the first thing we think of is self defense.  While BJJ is a fantastic way to learn self defense it’s also a great, and fun way to get in shape.  Many people have an extremely hard time staying motivated to consistently go to the gym and hop on the elliptical or tredmill for an hour to get in some cardio.  What if I told you there is a better way?  A way you could get cardio and loose weight while having fun doing it, instead of it becoming some boring chore.  There is a better way, the answer is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

BJJ is both an extremely physical and mental sport, so while you’re rolling around thinking about what sweep, pass, or submission you want to hit you are also getting into shape without even thinking about it.  Not only is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a fantastic form of exercise it is a perfect motivator for eating healthy, and taking care of your body.  When the Jiu Jitsu bug gets you, it will really start effecting your life in a positive way.  Once you start training you will want to perform your best and get the most out of your training, which means getting plenty of sleep and eating right.  This is why people refer to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a lifestyle.  As you’re improving your BJJ skills at the same time you’re also becoming a happier, healthier, and more fit version of yourself.
