Congratulations to all our Atos HQ athletes who made the long journey to Abu Dhabi to fight at the UAEJJF World Pro! The Abu Dhabi World Pro offers prize money for all divisions drawing some of the best competitors from around the globe. It was non stop action every day this past week at this massive event. Kaynan Duarte showed why he’s one of the best brown belts out there, winning the 94 kg division. Fantastic performance!
In the black belt division many of the competitors had to fight a pre-bracket to qualify for the main bracket, because there can only be one competitor representing each country in the main bracket. Gustavo Batista had to fight is way through an extremely tough pre-bracket just to win his spot in the main bracket. After 9 grueling matches he placed 3rd in his division. We are so proud of your performance Batista!
Luiza Monteiro also had tough road through the pre-bracket to make it to the main event. She had a spectacular performance, but unfortunately due to an illegal ankle lock and resulting injury she was unable to fight in the main bracket.
Angelica Galvao blew through the competition winning her finals match 8-2! A huge congratulations to her as she continues to dominate the competition scene, showing the world that she’s still on top. We are excited and happy to see her back!
