One day when I was talking to Kade Ruotolo, I said to him:
“Hey Kade, there’s only one man that can defeat you in this world.”
He asked me:
“Who Professor?”
And I told him,
“Your brother”
😂😂😂
But honestly… Their training sessions have to be seen to be believed. The intensity of their sparring is like nothing I’ve ever seen before on the mats.
They go one hundred percent against each other, every single day. They have so much mobility, flexibility, and speed.
There’s a quote in the Bible that says:
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
They’ve been sharpening each other since they were born. They started Jiu-Jitsu at three years old 🤯
Most of you saw them BOTH hit the same submission – a Rear Naked Choke with the arm in – at ONE Championship this weekend.
I wasn’t too surprised. I’ve seen them doing it in training sessions all the time.
Nothing can stop the Ruotolos. Only themselves, honestly.
There are so many highlight reels from their finishes at the weekend.
Kade waited for the right moment to jump on the back of his opponent – like a lion chasing his prey 🦁 It was supernatural, honestly.
Tye did a hip switch bodylock defense – a hip thrust sweep – followed by a beautiful transition to mount 🤩
The superpower they have is their smile, their energy, the joy they have in their hearts, and their love for people and for the sport.
One of the things they have that a lot of fighters don’t have is the joy for the sport and the joy for life. They surf every day, they’re close to nature and they’re building a connection with God.
They see Jiu-Jitsu in a very different way and they’re going to achieve amazing things in life.
Kade wants to make a transition to MMA, and I know he’s going to be a showman – the kind of guy that’s going to sell a lot of Pay-Per-Views.
Tye is more focused on becoming the GOAT of Jiu-Jitsu.
But, in all honesty, both of them are potential GOATs. They’re different than other fighters.
I love those kids and I’m really blessed and happy to have given them almost all their belts – from Orange to Black Belt ❤️🔥
